DIY 1.2 GHz coax relays

i needed a polarisation switch for my 70cm sat antenna. in the junk box was a small metal shielded 12 V SDS-relay.

the ferrite bread is mounted as close as possible to the input SMA connector. keep all connections very short.

band SWR
2 m ??
70 cm 1 : 1.1
23 cm 1 : 1.3

good SWR but the small SMA connectors and the SMD-C getting very hot after about 1 minute transmitting 25 W FM .

target failed but a suxessfull experiment.

when i realized the warming comes from the SMA connectors and not from the relay, i soldered RG-58 direct to the relay-boddy and terminals. result: no warming up (a good SMD-C will handle the TX power without warming)
